Squirrel Control in Bletchley

Bletchley is the older part of the city, and the gardens are older with it. Pre-war and inter-war streets here have substantial mature trees in back gardens rather than in a park at the end of the road, which puts the canopy directly over the roofline.

The roofs are older too, and they fail differently from the newer estates. Timber rather than plastic, which means rot rather than gnawing is often what opens the way in.

On a timber roofline the usual sequence is that something fails first and a squirrel finds it second. A bargeboard end that has been wet for years, a soffit that has gone soft where a gutter has been overflowing, a fascia behind a broken downpipe: all of it becomes openable.

That is why on older property the proofing conversation is often partly a repair conversation. Mesh over rotten timber does not hold, and the honest answer is sometimes that a section of board needs replacing before anything can be fixed to it.

Worth checking your gutters at the same time. A long-term overflow is usually upstream of the rot that let them in.
