Wasp Nest Treatment in Watford

Watford is urban, densely built and has a very large flatted sector: purpose-built blocks, converted houses and a lot of property under managing agents.

Which produces the situation this page is really about: a nest that nobody owns.

Flats and blocks

The Nest Is Not Yours to Deal With

In a flat, the roof, the eaves and the external walls are almost always communal, so a nest in any of them is the freeholder's or the managing agent's responsibility — and the person being stung on their balcony usually cannot authorise anything.

What moves it fastest is giving the agent something with no decisions in it. There is no survey, no quote and no variable: a wasp nest treatment is £90 including the guarantee, and that is a maintenance item an agent can sign off immediately rather than a project they have to price.

We are happy to deal with the agent directly and to attend with a resident arranging access. If several flats are affected, it is usually one nest and one treatment rather than one each.

On the houses, Watford is mixed Victorian to modern, so it covers the whole range — cavity nests in the older terraces, soffit and roof-vent nests on the newer estates.

Short answers

Watford Questions

I rent a flat and there is a nest on the building.

That is the freeholder or managing agent, because the roof and external walls are communal. We can deal with them directly.

Several flats are affected. Is it several jobs?

Usually one nest and one treatment, not one each.
