Wasp Nest Treatment in Dunstable

Dunstable and Houghton Regis have a lot of commercial and light industrial building alongside the housing, and a commercial wasp problem is a different kind of problem from a domestic one.

Not because the insect is different. Because there are staff, a duty of care and, in some trades, an inspector.

Wasps clustered at a narrow gap in the mortar joint of a brick wall, with one wasp flying in, and no nest visible from outside — A cavity nest: wasps at a gap, no nest in sight

Commercial

Bin Stores, Yards and Loading Bays

The nests turn up in a predictable short list: the bin store, the roof void, the gap behind signage or cladding, and anywhere in a yard that has been undisturbed since spring — stacked pallets, an unused skip, a cable tray under a canopy.

The bin store is the one that causes trouble, because it combines a sheltered nest site with a permanent sugar supply and a door that staff have to use several times a day.

For food premises there is a further dimension: wasps in a kitchen, a servery or a bar are a finding waiting to happen, and the question an inspector asks is what you did and whether you can show it. Attendance out of hours is available so the place keeps trading, and there is more on the commercial side in wasps and food businesses.

Domestic work here is ordinary: post-war housing with open eaves and a fair number of cavity nests, same as Bletchley.

Short answers

Dunstable Questions

Do you treat commercial premises?

Yes, including out-of-hours attendance so the place keeps trading, and a record of what was found and done.

There is a nest in our bin store.

Common, and worth doing quickly - a sheltered nest site next to a sugar supply and a door staff use all day.

Do you cover Houghton Regis?

Yes, both Dunstable and Houghton Regis.
