Amersham is two towns with one name, and for this job they behave completely differently. The Old Town in the valley is period, with deep roof voids, open eaves and a lot of outbuildings. Amersham on the Hill is largely twentieth century with tighter, simpler roofs.

Where the Nest Ends Up in Each

In the Old Town, expect a roof void, a chimney breast, a gap behind render or an outbuilding. The voids are large and they often connect, so the entrance and the nest can be a long way apart. Finding it is the part that takes the time.

On the hill, expect a soffit, a roof vent, a verge gap or a shed. Quicker to find and generally at normal ladder height.

Neither changes the price. What can change it is access — a tall Old Town building where the nest is well beyond ladder reach is a different piece of work, and anything beyond the fixed £90 is agreed with you before it happens.

Where discretion matters, say so when you book. Timing and where the van sits can both be arranged.
