Who We Are

Milton Keynes Pest Controllers, South Row, Milton Keynes MK9 3DQ. We are the people responsible for the information described on this page — in data protection terms, the data controller.

Telephone 01908 465226. Email sales@miltonkeynespestcontroller.co.uk. If you want to ask anything about this notice or about information we hold, either of those reaches us and there is no special address to use.

What we collect

The Enquiry Form

When you send the form on this site, it sends us what you typed into it:

• your name
• your telephone number
• your email address, if you give one
• which service you picked, and the town or area if you chose one
• whatever you wrote in the message box
• the address of the page you sent it from, so we know which service you were reading about

That is the whole of it. There is no hidden field, nothing is added to it, and it goes to this website's own server rather than to a third-party form service.

Please do not put anything sensitive in the message box. We do not need it to quote for a pest problem, and the form is not the right place for it.

What we collect

Phone, Email and WhatsApp

If you ring, email or message us, we have whatever you tell us and the number or address you contacted us from.

The WhatsApp button on this site opens WhatsApp. A message sent that way travels through WhatsApp's own service before it reaches us, on their terms rather than ours. If you would rather that did not happen, ring or email instead.

What we collect

If We Carry Out Work

Where an enquiry turns into a job we keep the ordinary records a trade business keeps: the address, what was found, what was done, what was used, what was recommended, and the invoice.

Some of that we keep because we are required to — records of what was applied at a property, and accounting records. The rest is so that if you ring us in two years about the same problem we know what happened last time.

Why we are allowed to

Our Lawful Bases

Three of them, and which one applies depends on what the information is:

• To take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and then to perform it. This covers responding to your enquiry, quoting, arranging a visit and carrying out the work.
• Legal obligation. Records relating to treatments and products, and accounting records, which we do not get to choose whether to keep.
• Our legitimate interests. Keeping a history of work at a property so that we can deal with a repeat problem sensibly, and keeping enough of a record to deal with a complaint or a query afterwards.

We do not use what you give us to send marketing unless you have asked us to, and we do not sell it to anybody, ever.

Who sees it

Sharing

We do not routinely share your details with anyone. The exceptions are the ordinary ones:

• the suppliers who run our email and this website, who handle the message on its way to us
• where somebody else instructed the work — a landlord, a letting agent, a managing agent or an employer — they will see the report for the job they commissioned
• where we are required to provide something by law, or by a regulator, or by a court

This website

Cookies, Fonts and the Map

Three things worth saying plainly, because most privacy pages are vague about them.

These pages set no cookies of their own, and they carry no analytics, no tracking pixel and no advertising script. We are not counting you.

The typefaces come from Google Fonts. That means your browser asks Google's servers for them when the page loads, and Google will see your IP address as a result. It is how a very large share of the web is built, and it is still a third party seeing something about you, so it is here rather than buried.

The contact section embeds a Google Map, which is a frame served by Google and which does set cookies of its own. Those are Google's, not ours, and they are governed by Google's privacy terms rather than by this notice. If you would rather it did not load, a browser extension that blocks third-party frames will stop it, and nothing else on the page depends on it.

Links out to Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp and elsewhere are just links. Once you follow one you are on somebody else's site under somebody else's privacy terms.

How long

Keeping It

An enquiry that does not turn into a job is kept only as long as it is useful to have it, and then deleted.

Where we have carried out work, the job records are kept for as long as we need them for the legal and accounting reasons above, and then they go too.

If you want something removed sooner, ask — see the next section. We will do it unless we are required to keep it, and if that is the case we will tell you which part and why.

Your rights

What You Can Ask Us To Do

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

• show you what we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete it, where we are not required to keep it
• restrict what we do with it while something is being sorted out
• object to us using it where we are relying on our legitimate interests
• have it sent to you or to somebody else in a portable form, where that applies

If we get it wrong

Complaining

Tell us first if you can — most things are a misunderstanding and are quicker to fix directly.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, which is the UK regulator, without coming to us at all. They are at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint and on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to This Notice

If this changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. There is no archive of previous versions; what is on this page is what applies.
